Musk Launches New ‘America Party’ To Smash Trump’s ‘One-Party System’

Musk Launches New ‘America Party’

America Party : Tech billionaire Elon Musk, once one of US President Donald Trump’s largest supporters and contributors, has unveiled a new political group called the America Party, aiming to challenge what he calls the country’s entrenched “one-party system.” The dramatic announcement came just days after Musk’s bitter fallout with Trump over the president’s flagship Big Beautiful plan, which Musk has strongly opposed.

Musk, the world’s richest person and CEO of SpaceX and Tesla, announced on his social media site X, previously Twitter, on Saturday. “By a factor of 2 to 1, you want a new political party and you shall have it! When it comes to bankrupting our country with waste & graft, we live in a one-party system, not a democracy. Today, the America Party is formed to give you back your freedom.,” Musk wrote. The rollout comes after a bitter public spat with Trump, who signed into law earlier this week the so-called ‘One Big Beautiful Bill’, a gigantic tax cut and spending package. Musk criticized the bill as a “disgusting abomination” that will increase the US deficit by an estimated 3.4 trillion USD over the next ten years.

In a gesture typical of his straightforward interaction with followers, Musk conducted an online survey on Independence Day seeking whether Americans would like “independence from the two-party (some say uni-party) system.” The survey attracted more than 1.2 million votes, with a two-to-one majority in the affirmative for the creation of a new party. “Independence Day is the perfect time to ask if you want independence from the two-party (some would say uniparty) system! Should we create the America Party?” Musk stated earlier. He also tweeted a meme of a two-headed snake with “End the Uniparty” written across it, highlighting his point that Democrats and Republicans both, in his opinion, have not addressed reckless spending and corruption.

The war of narratives between the two celebrity players has gathered momentum fast. Following Musk’s continued derision of the spending bill, Trump struck back by vowing to eliminate the billions of dollars in federal subsidies that enable Musk’s business endeavors, such as Tesla and SpaceX. The president even called for Musk, born in South Africa and naturalized in 2002, to be deported. “Elon Musk knew, long before he so strongly Endorsed me for President, that I was strongly against the EV Mandate. It is ridiculous and was always a major part of my campaign. Electric cars are fine, but not everyone should be forced to own one. Elon may get more subsidies than any human being in history, by far, and without subsidies, Elon would probably have to close up shop and head back home to South Africa. No more Rocket launches, Satellites, or Electric Car Production, and our Country would save a FORTUNE. Perhaps we should have DOGE take a good, hard, look at this? BIG MONEY TO BE SAVED!!” Trump posted this on Truth Social.

Musk has laid out an aggressive strategy for the America Party. In multiple posts on X, he outlined plans to “laser-focus” on vulnerable lawmakers who backed the spending bill, pledging to spend millions to defeat them in upcoming elections. “One approach to making this happen would be to laser-in on only 2 or 3 Senate seats and 8 to 10 House districts. They will lose their primary next year if it is the last thing I do on this Earth,” Musk said. All 435 seats in the US House of Representatives are on the ballot every two years, while about one-third of the 100 seats in the Senate are on the ballot each election cycle.

Although Musk’s dramatic action has sent a shockwave of excitement through segments of his huge internet base, political analysts have noted that third parties in the US have in the past failed to penetrate Republican and Democratic strangles. Some netizens equated Musk’s new party to Ross Perot’s 1992 independent presidential candidacy, which divided conservative votes and facilitated Democrat Bill Clinton’s election to the White House. “You’re pulling a Ross Perot, and I don’t like it,” read one post under Musk’s statement, comparing fears the America Party will split the conservative vote.

‘Next Year’: Musk Suggests 2026 Bid

When questioned if he would run for the 2026 midterm elections or bid for the White House in 2028, Musk gave a signal that his jump into active politics may be sooner than most anticipate. When responding to a query from a user on his intentions, he merely typed, “Next Year.” America Party creation is a historic turn of events in US politics, with one of the globe’s most powerful business leaders vowing to upset the century-old two-party system with his vast fortune, social media influence, and intensely devoted followers.
